LCCDRJP is a community-based agency established to address unlawful behaviors, support victims of crime and promote healthy families and communities within the Lamoille Valley Region.

It is the goal of LCCDRJP to establish and maintain a graduated level of services and sanctions for individuals involved in delinquent and criminal behaviors. The following summaries describe the services provided by Lamoille County Court Diversion Restorative Justice Program, Inc. Each intervention is community based and restorative in nature.

LCCDRJP participates in the following interagency groups: Lamoille Valley Community Justice Project, People in Partnership, Lamoille Juvenile Justice Team, Lamoille Valley Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition, and the Lamoille Interagency Networking Team.
 
A Day In The Life – Court Diversion Office:
 
  • A Johnson State College student gets health insurance as a result of a conversation about his drug and alcohol use.
  • A parent receives information about a local parent education program.
  • 12 middle school students enjoy two hours of fitness training and flag football after school.
  • Four first time offenders meet with trained community volunteers and develop a contract for repairing the harm caused by their actions.
  • A family is visited by the health care coordinator to create a plan for the children while the mother goes to an inpatient substance abuse treatment program.
  • A sixth grade student who is refusing to go to school, receives a home visit from the truancy case manager and decides to go in late.
  • Seven youth in the foster care system come to a life skills group to learn about how to interview for a job.
  • Four high school seniors come to the office for intakes because they were caught drinking over the weekend.
